When you’re stressed, the next best thing to do is to have desserts. After all, stressed is desserts spelt backwards. Desserts are a sweet ending to a new beginning of a whole new life. Sweet-tooth people would be nodding their heads in agreement to the statement above. As Malaysians who love to eat, having desserts to end your meal is something we all seek for. Whether if its ice cream, cakes, cupcakes, or getting high on sugary delicacies , KL/Selangor area has plenty to offer for some of the best desserts cafes. 



Located out of the busy streets of SS15, it’s pretty easy to locate the shop. It’s facing the road opposite SJMC hospital and find the name Souka with a whisk as part of their logo. It specialises in vintage and classic cakes and desserts. They use quality local and imported halal ingredients to whip out some amazing delicacies.  Souka also caters to private events from weddings to birthday parties. Anything from cakes, pavlova, pies, tarts, cheesecakes are some of the things you can get from here. Their signature cake you definitely cannot miss out is their red velvet cake. Sinful but oh so creamy! Makes you think you’re not sinning after all.

Regular customers normally come here mainly for their famous burnt cheesecake aside from their good coffee and scrumptious main course meals. Milligram aspires to keep things small, simple and with a personal touch. A place where simplicity made perfect. Too perfect that their signature cloudcakes are so soft and fluffy that it’s almost biting into a piece of cloud. Have a load of their extensive menu of desserts including homemade waffles, handcrafted icecreams, plated desserts and more! Due to its flawless dessert, this place has been getting consistent good feedback and reviews from people who comes to eat here. A sweet treat that they serve can only be heightened with a good cup of their espresso-based coffee. This place gives a very warming welcome so you’ll feel right at home.

Get yourself a slice of heavenly cakes from Kiara Cakes for those of you who are in the vicinity of Mont Kiara area. Kiara Cakes is the perfect place to spend the lovely worry-less afternoon sipping coffee, eating cakes and let your wonderous mind dazed over nonsensical thoughts. Its neon light sign inside the shop also makes it another reason for you to visit there to feed your Instagram followers. This place offers an array of artisanal cakes and coffees such as lavender chocolate cake, pistachio cake, salted egg yolk croissant and kombuchas as well. Try their cute looking macaroons too!

5. Shugatori Dessert Café 


One of the reasons Shugatori Dessert Café has been well-liked among people is for multiple varieties of waffles, pancakes, and honey toasts. They are known also for its customize unicorn cakes that’ll would ideal for an eye-pleasing cake for events. Its décor inside the restaurant is calming as the café is mainly in white colour that is filled with green plants, ideal to unwind. “Ying Yang” waffle and toast is one of their famous ones that is the best seller there. To pair up the wonderful desserts, they also serve coffee, tea and even mojito.

6. Garage 51 Café 


Looking at the picture alone, you’ll be able to tell that Garage 51 doesn’t hold back when it comes to glorifying an outstanding dessert in a big glass. Inspired by Melbourne cafes, it serves delicious food and drinks too in this unique place situated in an industrial garage. It’s the best place to take photographs of the hipster interior, and the overload of dessert goodness. Located just a walking distance from Sunway University Campus, this place can be packed with students and dessert lover as well. Try their milkshake menus if you don’t mind being overdose on abundant sugar and chocolatey goodness that’s worth your money.

7. MadHatter Desserts 


Another dessert gem place located in Damansara Utama is famous also partly due to its owner credibility. Founded and run by MasterChef Asia’s 1st runner up, Marcus Low; they are a patisserie and cafe that serves cakes, entremets, tarts, plated desserts, coffee and drinks. Madhatter also makes their bread like sourdough and brioche. One of their famous go-to desserts are the Chocolate Calamansi entremet which you could say is a unique combination with the strong chocolate flavour to its calamansi. Expect Masterclass presentations and sweetness on plate.

8. MyKori Dessert Café 


This Japanese snacks and desserts shop does serve up some awesome shaved ice flavoured ice cream and good desserts. It’s so good that you can visit them at their six outlets now in Subang Jaya, Old Klang Road, Puchong, SS2, Kota Kemuning and Mahkota Cheras outlet. Mykori is a Muslim friendly café and can be enjoyed with a big group of friends too. Mykori signature kakigori is a must to try from flavours like mango cheesecake, hojicha kakigori, thai tea, melon, matcha latte and many more. Each dessert comes with a generous portion which can be shared with 2 to 3 people. Most of their menu with pictures are blasted throughout the restaurant so making a decision wouldn’t be so hard.

9. Joy St. 


Bangsar has another reason for you to be joyful! Joy St opened its doors to the public in 2017 and ever since then, they’ve been serving homemade Italian gelato that has become a favourite among customers there. Some the great flavour they are famous for is their Watermelon Lychee, Avocado Mango, Earl Grey, Biscoff and Pistachio.  If you’re looking for a stronger flavour that kicks a punch, they also serve alcoholic gelato like Rum and Raisins that taste amazing too. Joy St caters to private events, birthdays and others.

Craving for fancy desserts with a sweet satisfaction? Then head on over to TTDI, where Foo Foo fine desserts that’ll knock your socks off. You’ll get exquisite plated desserts that are paired with some of their best home-made ice creams for your indulgence from afternoon till late night. Its cosy interior would bring you back to a 70’s humble home with armchairs, rattan furniture and antique fabrics laid in the restaurant. Some of the fancy desserts are strawberry tart, crispy profiteroles with ice, apple strudel, pumpkin tres leches and many more. To up their name as fine desserts, Foo Food serves dessert wine too to further balance out the flavours.
