Cafe Yamatatsu was first started as a weekend pop up stall in Kongsi KL last year, offering you a series of scrumptious Taiwanese x Japanese dishes. It has now moved to Old Klang Road, with a space of its own. Once you stepped into the restaurant, you will be attracted by the posters of Naruto, One Piece, Slam Dunk and a series of Studio Ghibli anime artwork.
Signature Braised Pork Rice (RM8) comes with homemade juicy braised pork with a side of soft boiled egg, taste wise is similar to Tai Chung, sweet savoury without a trace of greasy. Shredded Chicken Rice (RM8) is one of our favourite, fragrant rice topped with a generous amount of shredded chicken and side with a half soft boiled egg, chicken is surprisingly juicy and savoury, as they have added in sesame oil and soy sauce. It is so damn delicious! If you are a seafood lover or looking for something exclusive, try their ‘Yu Har Hai Lun’ Rice (RM23), a bowl seafood goodness which consists of mackerel, shishamo, prawn, crab stick and crab roe then torched to perfection. Never leave without ordering their Taiwanese Mee Suah (RM10), using imported noodle only and cooked till soft in a thick, umami rich broth then topped with pork slices. You might come back regularly for this.
