This place is highly sort after that you won’t be surprised to see people lining up outside of the restaurant during lunch hour to get their garlic roasted chicken rice fix. The reason for the crowd also can be contributed not only for its famous garlic drizzle on top of the chicken but due to its cheap and affordable price. All under RM10. Plus, the portions of the ingredients, especially the star of the dish, the garlic given is super generous.

2. San Sin Chicken Rice, Klang

Who says Klang is only famous for bah kut teh? This place gives an in depth appreciation to their chicken rice stall located inside of San Sin restaurant. You can even say the chicken rice is so good that it pretty much unites Klang people from all walks of life. Opens only 6pm onwards and can pack a crowd during dinner time. Some say this is the best spot for supper too. The must try is their roasted chicken rice plus with their fragrant ‘oily’ rice which is the perfect Malaysian staple food. You can even order in something else besides chicken rice as they serve Chinese dishes as well.

3. Hawker Chan Petaling Street

This well-known Singapore’s Michelin-starred chicken rice Hawker Chan has opened in KL Chinatown. This is the second outlet in Malaysia. The first was opened in Jalan Theatre in Chan’s hometown, Ipoh. It was awarded one Michelin star by the Michelin Guide Singapore in 2016, offering you the cheapest Michelin-starred meal in the world. Signature Hong Kong Soya Sauce-glazed Chicken is a MUST try here! A recipe that takes 5 hours to prepare, savour into juicy and tender chicken meat that is marinated in soya sauce. You can also get Char Siew, Siew Yoke and Pork Ribs here. Char Siew is indeed charred to perfection and gorgeously glazed with everything that makes the dish palatable while siew yoke has a balance ratio of fat and lean meat with crispy skin – oh! that’s our favourite!! Restoran Satellite has been around for ages and was even voted the best chicken rice in the whole of Klang Valley. What’s amazing here is the ample seating and the greenery decor environment. Their steamed chicken is the real winner here with the right amount of texture, soy sauce and the tenderness of the meat is perfection. Make sure to mix it out with their signature bean sprouts for extra crunch.

Packing in a crowd too during lunch or dinner time so you have to be fast enough to book your spots, however service is really fast and professional. When it comes to their food, their roast chicken, char siew and siew yok reigns supreme. Up to its fat that is rendered from the meat to the oiled rice, it will sure guarantee your next visit here again. They even serve dishes like kampung chicken, kuey teow and others. It is also cheap and worth spending.

6. Loke Yun Hainanese Chicken Rice @ Ampang

7. Gerai Makanan Kie Kee @ PJ Old Town

It’s true that most amazing delicacies are found in food courts. In Kie Kee restaurant, it serves some of the best roasted chicken and siew yok goodness here. Been operating for over  50 years, this place stands to be one of the must visit places in PJ Old Town. Kie Kee also offers stewed chicken with soy sauce accompanied by herbal soup which will soothe your soul too. Lunch starts at 1130am and usually would be sold out before 1pm, so it’s best to be there as early as you can. Plus, they even have this pork curry dish that is oh so beautiful to consume. Since it’s located at a public food court, seek their famous ais kacang cendol stall called Aunty Peggy’s.

8. Zheng Kee Chicken Rice @ Segambut

Upon entering this small stall, you sometimes got to wait in line to get your dose of Zheng Kee chicken rice that is famously known in the area. First things first, order their siu yuk, char siew and roast chicken. Their meat here is noticeable larger in size and so tender when you eat them. The pork dish would make you fall in love with food all over again. It comes just the right amount of thick soy sauce for the char siew and gives a generous portion too. Main reason for this tiny stall to be famous is due to its customer favourite of the chicken herbal soup served in a coconut. Parking may be a bit of a stretch to find but it’s worth it when you eat here.

9. Lian Kee Chicken Rice @ Restoran Mei Sek, USJ

Located in Restaurant Mei Sek, Lian Kee chicken rice only opens for dinner. It offers Ipoh styled chicken rice with a few local favourites. The steamed chicken is cooked so perfectly that it’s juicy and meaty parts just fall right out from the bones. If you’re a fan of spicy chilli dip to go with your chicken rice, then be our guest to go all crazy with it. The taste is not too overwhelming to the point where it dampens the other quality dishes. It’s simple and comforting food that reigns supreme at night here is one place you need to visit when you’re in Subang. They do serve meatball soup, braised tofu and other meat ingredients.

10. Kim Kee Nasi Ayam Hailam @ Ampang

Since it’s a halal chicken rice place, many people from different backgrounds can enjoy this chicken rice and is proven to be a big hit by it’s customers. For those nasi hailam enthusiasts, eating together with their crunchy bean sprouts is a must. It’s moist, tender and fork-tender poached chicken would be the next best thing to come over here. Besides the chicken rice, you have an array of western types of food served here as well such as sirloin steak, hainanese chicken chop, lamb shank and escargots with cheese.
