The True Taste of Thailand in Hartamas

Food in large portions, affordable prices and led by smart and good-looking owners.

Have we got your attention already?

If yes, head on over to a new Thai restaurant in town. You don’t have to travel far to get the true taste of Thailand. Located in the heart of suburban Hartamas, Thai Arch Kitchen & Bar is situated in the Hartamas Shopping Centre. They made their debut in KL last year in October and they’ve been the talk of the town because of their culinary choices, flavours, quality and top-notch presentation. It is authentic Thai food prepared by homegrown Thai Chef. Ingredients are meticulously selected and imported from Thailand. It is as good as it gets!

There are a few MUST trys that you shouldn’t miss:

Thai Arch Plate (RM 29.90)

A platter to be shared by two, it is a medley of some of Thailand’s infamous sides – spring rolls, chicken wrapped in pandan, fish cakes, prawn cakes and papaya salad.

Pineapple Fried Rice (RM 25.90)

This is certainly a piece of art. Fried rice, with a subtle fragrance of turmeric, cooked with fresh, succulent prawns served in a boat-shaped pineapple. Very artsy! Because the portions here are larger than usual, you can order this to share so that you have ample stomach space for other dishes.

Classic Tom Yum (Red) (small – RM27.90)

You can’t go home from a Thai restaurant without trying their Tom Yum. A spicy red broth that is cooked with their homemade Thai chili paste, lime, lemon grass and kaffir lime. Served with a generous amount of seafood like prawns, squid and fish. The soup had the right balance of heat and zest, just enough to wake anyone up from a slumber.

Prawn Cake (RM 19.90)

They are a popular Thai side dish that can quickly be a hit or a miss. It was definitely a hit for us! The texture of the prawn cakes had a nice, bouncy bite to it. The minced prawns are loaded with delicious Thai ingredients, then shaped into a patty, covered with panko, deep-fried and served with a pleasingly sweet plum sauce.

Give these a try too:

Chicken Pandan Leaves (RM16.90)

Deep fried marinated chickens wrapped with pandan leaves.

Salted Egg Sweet Corn Salad (RM17.90)

An interesting mix of Cameron sweet corn topped with salted egg.

Steam Squid with Lime Sauce (RM39.90)

Squid steamed to perfection on a bed of cabbage and flavoured with lime and chili.

Chicken with Cashew Nuts (RM28.90)

Wok-fried diced chicken with cashew nuts, and plenty of dried chili for that extra oomph of spiciness.

Prawn Pad Thai (RM18.90)

A classic rice noodle dish that is very popular in Thailand. It’s made with thin, flat rice noodles, stir-fried in a sweet-savoury-sour sauce topped with crushed peanuts.

Thai Classic Omelette (RM13.90)

This omelette was EGG-cellent. Cooked over the right amount the heat, it had a wonderful golden-brown layer and it was also a perfect accompaniment to all the dishes that we’ve tried that day.
