Here’s a quiz: Japanese. Seafood. Where can you get them in Tokyo?
If you’ve answered Toyosu Fish Market (or formerly known as Tsukiji Fish Market), you’ve got it right! This is one of the most popular seafood hub of Tokyo Bay Area, Japan for the freshest catch! Now you get to experience one of the freshest seafood right here in Kuala Lumpur!
Hagi Japanese Cuisine in TTDI is a fine dining restaurant that serves Japanese cuisine. With their seafood carefully selected and flown in directly from Toyosu Fish Market, you are assured of a quality seafood. With a restaurant specializing in raw seafood, it is of utmost importance that their seafood is sashimi and sushi-grade.
Some of the MUST trys:
Sashimi
They are available a la carte where you can choose from a variety of raw seafood. However, if you like to have an assortment of sashimi and BE SURPRISED, then we would recommend going for the Sashimi Platter. The chef’s selects them for you – so today’s platter may not be the same as yesterday’s.
We had the Sashimi Kiku (RM 150) where the Chef specifically selects 5 types of sashimi. It was nice to just relax and chill, and have the Chef pick the best cuts for us. We had the:
- Maguro (Yellowfin Tuna)
- Kanpachi (Amberjack)
- Shima Aji (Stripjack mackerel)
- Madai (Red Snapper)
- Aji (Mackerel)
Nothing short of amazing.
Another must try – Sushi Platter – Kaze (RM150). It is served with 7 Nigiri Sushi such as Maguro, Kanpachi, Shima Aji, Madai, Aji and Ikura with a Tuna Hosomaki. Served by skilled hands, this is what we call top grade sushi!
If you like something warm and hearty, the Chicken Teriyaki Onsen Tamago Don (RM30) hits the spot. Perfectly grilled teriyaki chicken, topped with a wobbly, semi-translucent Onsen Tamago on a bed of rice. With a slight pierce of the yolk, the liquid gold flows and soaks into the chicken and rice. It is the ultimate comfort food.
A big fan of avocado? Try the Avocado Gratan (RM18). It’s baked avocado with prawns and miso. A dish of varying textures and flavours – from the creamy and earthy avocado, succulent prawns to the salty umami of miso – we can’t help but to say, “you make MISO happy!”
