Pan Mee is undoubtedly one of Malaysia’s comfort foods. If you looking for a slurpy bowl of pan mee, Tian Yake Pan Mee, is the prefect spot. This humble roadside stall is located in one of the lorong in chow kit. Parking is pretty challenging here as it is very limited but you can always park in a building and walk over to the stall. What amazed and impressed us is the owner is still using a glass bottle to flatten and pull the dough then stacked and cut accordingly with a knife, which is rare to be seen nowadays as most stalls or restaurants prefer machines. The owner has been cooking the traditional way for 40 years. Since the noodles are all hand torned in a traditional way, therefore neither thin nor thick noodles are served here but each bowl comes with irregular shapes and sizes. Pan Mee is cooked with vegetables and minced pork, then topped with a generous amount of fried shallots and mushrooms. It is so soft and smooth that you can slurp it from your spoon right away! Just like mother’s home cooked pan mee. Missing your mom’s pan mee already? Come down here now and get your cravings fix!
